Opening times

The House and Gardens are open from 11am - 5pm Tuesday - Sunday (closed on Monday unless it is a Bank Holiday). Entry tickets are purchased from the Kiosk on the day - no advance booking. Great Dixter is an historic house, a garden, a centre of education, and a place of pilgrimage for horticulturists from across the world.

Great Dixter was the family home of gardener and gardening writer Christopher Lloyd – it was the focus of his energy and enthusiasm and fuelled over 40 years of books and articles. Now under the stewardship of Fergus Garrett and the Great Dixter Charitable Trust.

Great Dixter was the home of gardener and gardening writer Christopher Lloyd (1921-2006), who developed it into a hub of ideas and connections that spread out across the world.

Great Dixter Summer Plant Fair Sat 20th & Sun 21st July

The entrance fee is £16 and includes garden entry (Friends & Annual Ticket holders: free). Tickets are on sale on the gate, on the day (no advance booking). There will also be lots of refreshments for sale & dogs are welcome in the Plant Fair field.
