Investment in the garden

As well as investment in the capital project there continues to be ongoing maintenance and staffing costs in the garden. The paving, the pond in the sunk garden, replanting of the yew hedges and the green infrastructure all need regular upkeep.

In 2009 and 2010 three of the nursery greenhouses were rebuilt using money from a fund set up in memory of Great Dixter trustee Nick Mills.

A new irrigation system is planned for the autumn of 2011 costing £7,000 which is still to be raised.
