Head Gardener Fergus Garrett will lead this Study Day held at Great Dixter House and Gardens. Refreshments and lunch are included, served in the Great Hall and we are offering a 10% discount on plant sales for attendees in the nursery on the day.

This study day for serious gardeners offers a timely opportunity to get ahead in your garden over the winter. The preparations you carry out throughout the winter months can have a big impact upon the levels of work needed the following spring when time is often tight. It can be difficult to decide what to do and when, especially when working around challenging weather. Fergus Garrett will explain how tasks can be scheduled and prioritised to make the best use of your time and resources.

Fergus will talk about all aspects of the practical work involved including, weeding, editing, splitting, composting, feeding, and the growing of hardy annuals to integrate into your borders using cold frames, and pruning. He will demonstrate how the team manage to get onto the borders in the rain and how to push and pull work to be efficient with your time.
