Nursery

The Nursery is open Monday- Friday 9am to 12:30, 1:30-4:30 and Saturdays 9:-12:30 (closed on Sunday).

For information on availability of plants and postage and packing charges click here.

Postage and packing charges for orders up to £100 is £10. For orders over £100 we charge £15. Please see our terms of business for more details concerning plant mail orders.

The Nursery was started by Christopher Lloyd in 1954, specialising in plants he deemed garden-worthy. We remain a small, personal and professional nursery. Find out more about our methods of raising plants. The nursery at Great Dixter by Carol Casselden

The nursery is open throughout the year, to everyone, not only visitors to Great Dixter House and Gardens. There is no entrance charge. 

As well as plants, we sell hand-picked Great Dixter seed, and a carefully selected range of Sneeboer & Zn garden tools and pots and sundries.

We will be continuing mail order and pre-paid collections, browse our online catalogue to place an order. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you all at a safe distance!

Parking is located at the north west perimeter of the Nursery. From here the Nursery may be accessed directly. The nearby Great Dixter Shop is ideally located for garden-related products, gifts, locally made products and refreshments.

    Great Dixter Gardens is now open. Please click here to book a ticket. Friends and Annual ticket holders do not need to book. The house is open each day between 1pm and 4pm. To enter the House you must also have a ticket for the Garden. Please book a slot at the same time as booking your tickets.

    The Loggia cafe is now open for a range of lunches, snacks, hot and cold drinks and cakes, all freshly cooked here at Dixter. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available. Please inform staff if you have any special dietary requirements or allergies and they will endeavour to help.
