Saturday 2nd September – Sunday 1st October 2017
Andrew Hazelden and Ursula Waechter worked with Alan Caiger-Smith at the Aldermaston Pottery from the 1980s until the pottery closed in 2006. Alongside pieces by Alan, their work was bought enthusiastically by Christopher Lloyd and still decorates the house at Great Dixter with its exuberant brushstrokes and bold colours.
Both individuals now run their own potteries, Ursula in Newbury, Berkshire and Andrew at Yarnton near Oxford. They have created a selection of fine bowls, jugs, teapots and platters especially for the exhibition. These offer a rich opportunity to acquire work in the distinctive Aldermaston tradition.
The pottery will be on show in the Great Hall. Open during normal opening hours. Entrance included within a House and Garden admission ticket.
