What’s on Yesterday's Gardener Melvin Smith will be on hand in the Great Barn 13th and 14th July, 11:45 and 2:30 talking about yesterday's gardener and showing some of the tools that were used. Free to attend. Donations are welcomed and will be used towards restoration of the old Dixter pump house and the Dixter student training scheme. Melvin has been lecturing and writing articles about rural life and natural history for almost 40 years. Many of the artefacts in his collection has been passed down through his own family.
