Meadow gardening study day

Head Gardener Fergus Garrett will lead this Study Day held at Great Dixter House and Gardens. Refreshments and lunch are included, served in the Great Hall and we are offering a 10% discount on plant sales for attendees in the nursery on the day.

Discover the secrets of meadows using the amazing Great Dixter meadows as a case study. You will be taken through the process of creating and maintaining a meadow looking at various meadows within the Great Dixter estate as well as considering the crucial role they have to play in creating a mosaic of habitats to support biodiversity. Includes slides and talks and sessions in the meadows.

The garden sessions will look at the meadows as they move into their late- summer phase. Fergus will discuss timing of cutting and the process of cutting and hay strewing at this critical time of year.
