Learning Adult learning programme May 2024 Symposium This symposium includes the following: Lectures and workshops with head gardener Fergus Garrett will explore the following topics: An introduction to Great Dixter Good planting and designing with plants How to choose superior plants Succession planting and extending the season Nursery propagation, seed sowing and understanding composts Meadows and meadow gardening Timetabling of tasks Sub-tropical gardening Staking and tying Composts, border soil improvement and composting Also includes: An in-depth tour of the house with an insight into how garden and house intertwine Suppers in the House with time for discussion with members of the Great Dixter team Accommodation and meals are included within the price of the course, which is £3200. A place can be secured by payment of a deposit of £650 with payment of the balance being due 8 weeks before the symposium start date.
