Clematis Viorna

A variable North American species from central western USA found often in streams and cliffs under dense canopy scrambling through small trees and shrubs. Has small fat bell-shaped flowers with pale lavender to reddish purple leathery petals, flushed green and outwardly curved at the tips. Summer to early autumn. Climbing to 3m. H7.

Pruning - Cut all shoots hard back in February to early March to a strong pair of buds 1m or less above ground level.
