The Snake’s Head Fritillary is the most charming of all bulbous perennials with thin wispy glaucous green leaves, and delicate stems holding dangling bell-shaped flowers in shades of creamy green to deep maroon. Each flower is animated with reptilian checkerboard markings. April-May. Moist soil. Naturalises. 40cm. H5.
