Sium sisarum

Skirret is of Chinese origin introduced into Europe by the Romans as an edible crop and for its medicinal properties. It grows about 1m tall and is see-through with a green open textured body, making a dainty plant with a light dusting of small white flowers. Extremely ornamental (if you like this sort of thing), as well useful for its culinary properties. Hardy. Perennial. July-Sept. 1m. H7.
