Garden Explorers

Garden Explorers is an adventurous group for children and their carers which takes place at Great Dixter, based from the Education room at Dixter Farm.

We will be garden based again this week. The plan is to make some beetroot and chocolate cake (hopefully I can get hold of some beetroot!) Ingredients, oil, eggs, sugar, cocoa, SR flour- butter and cream cheese icing to serve – please bring subs if you have allergies.

We’ll head for a walk around the garden and collect some of the fallen magnolia and tulip petals- then come back for a story and some coffee and scones followed a play around with some plaster of Paris on petals, watering, and of course some singing and dancing. There will also be the usual painting on offer for the creatives among us. .

Meet at 9:30 at Dixter Farm. You can book as ever from 9pm the night before the session.

Just to reiterate that the garden is now open to the public and we hold the great responsibility of setting the tone when it comes to parking- if it goes wrong first thing we are stuffed for the rest of the day. Please park sensibly pulling as far forward into the spaces as you are able to and make sure you squeeze up to the person next door- also please do not use the disabled spots unless you have a blue badge.

Thanks

Catherine

Information for new Garden Explorers:
There are baby changing facilities in the education room and the White Barn, next to the ticket office. There is lots of room for buggies inside the education room but when in the garden, we leave them by the ticket office and stick to the paths at all times.

Please be aware that Great Dixter is responsible for ensuring that all sites and activities are risk assessed and fit for purpose and you are responsible for direct supervision of your children while attending this group. Please read the health and safety information on our website before attending a session.
