This is our second year of recording bumblebees at Great Dixter. We conduct a transect around the garden and meadows with the help of Dr. Nikki Gammens who is training Catherine Haydock and Sarah Seymour in identification skills. We were thrilled to discover two rarer species in the garden this year: Bombus ruderarius and Bombus ruderatus and a sighting of Bombus muscorum just on the edge of our land.
