Gardening with subtropical plants

Head Gardener Fergus Garrett will lead this Study Day held at Great Dixter House and Gardens. Refreshments and lunch are included, served in the Great Hall and we are offering a 10% discount on plant sales for attendees in the nursery on the day.

Gain an insight into how Fergus and the team use subtropical plants in the borders, pot displays and Old Rose Garden (Subtropical Garden) at Great Dixter to create a lush textured tropical effect. From design, plant choice, the act of planting, and maintenance, to the winter care of plants, Fergus Garrett will take you through how to use subtropical plants to add another layer to your display and to extend the season of colour in your own garden. The day will include slides, talks and practical sessions in the borders and Old Rose Garden.
