Tradition and Innovation in one day

A picture of Pashley Manor

A visit to Pashley Manor Gardens followed by a visit to Great Dixter.

Begin your day in the traditional splendour of the gardens at Pashley Manor followed by lunch (not included in the price) and then on to Great Dixter House and Gardens.

Price: £25.00 per person – for groups of 15 or over with a £1.00 per person extra discount if the group is over 25 people.

Pashley Manor is a quintessential English garden located on the Sussex and Kent border in the heart of South East England’s garden country. Pashley offers a sumptuous blend of romantic landscaping, imaginative plantings and fine old trees, fountains, springs and large ponds. We recommend a minimum of two hours to visit the Gardens, however, most groups stay much longer than this, enjoying the delicious lunches and teas available from the Garden Room Café. To book contact Pashley Manor on tel: 01580 200888. www.pashleymanorgardens.com.

Gardens and GuardsAn image of a Steam train on the Kent and East Sussex railway

An opportunity to enjoy a tour of Great Dixter house and its gardens, followed by a cream tea aboard a steam hauled train on the Kent & East Sussex Railway.

Coach parties arrive at Great Dixter at 11.30am for a private tour of the house and a chance to see the exuberant gardens. At 1.30pm it’s on to the nearby Kent & East Sussex Railway station in Northiam, to catch the 1:45pm steam train to Bodiam, which then returns to Tenterden just after 3.00pm. The party will enjoy a cream tea on the trip from Bodiam, whilst viewing the superb scenery of the Rother Valley and High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can arrange for your coach to collect your party from Tenterden at 3:05pm or return on the same train after a 25 minute turn-around to Northiam arriving at 4:05pm.

This tour is available every K&ESR operating day (excepting Mondays) from April to September. To book contact the K&ESR on tel: 01580 765155 for train bookings and Great Dixter House & Gardens on tel: 01797 252878.
