The Barn Garden

An eye-catching feature of the Barn Garden is the Brunswick fig trees planted against the barn wall, they are many-fingered giving striking architectural interest.

This a Lutyens feature which he repeated in subsequent gardens that he designed. The Barn Garden surrounds the Sunk Garden, giving you a good view across the whole garden.

As the season progresses the planting becomes taller and voluptuous, a celebration of colour and contrasting forms, the Barn Garden is a feast for the senses.
